DayStar’s ministry and success are rooted in the participation of those God has called to be involved.

Ministry will not and cannot happen unless the people of God rise up to the challenge that God has laid before us!

PRAYER

Please pray with us for God’s heart to be revealed to the Native people of Ontario. We often pass by the greatest opportunities to change the lives of our communities. Join with us in the most important work as we call on God to reveal Himself powerfully, saving, transforming and holding each of our native friends.

DONATE

Being a charitable organization, DayStar depends on caring folks who believe in this ministry to underwrite the finances. We strive to maintain a strong financial foundation with credibility and integrity.

INTERNSHIP

If you have a heart for Indiginous people, are passionate in experiencing God in all of your ways, and are looking to be involved in a unique cross-cultural ministry opportunity in Ontario, then this internship is for you. The DayStar Internship program is primarily designed for senior high school and college-age students, with the ability to give a couple of months in the summer or some “gap year time”. If your heart is drawn and God has placed in you a heart to serve, please contact us for more information.

DayStar partners with many churches and organizations who come to help us throughout the year. During the summer months many churches partner with us to run day camps on 18 reserves. During the rest of the year we will have teams come up to our headquarters in Wiiwemkoong and be involved in construction work on the DayStar house, put on a special week of afterschool programs for the kids, or a ladies weekend. If you are interested in getting a team together to work with us for a week, and let us know how you want to help.

Is God calling you to serve Him long-term?

The time is short, the demands are great and the needs in lives all around are very complex.

The challenge accepted by DayStar in this reality is to present true balance, peace and wholeness through God’s love as found in the whole Gospel, and practical life teachings.

DayStar Native Outreach is committed to impacting native communities in the mid-north of Ontario with the love of God. Our staffing is presently concentrated in Wiikwemkoong Unceded Reserve and M’Chigeeng First Nations on Manitoulin Island, as well as Thessalon First Nations on the North Shore. From these locations we also outreach to several other reserves from where invitations have been received for workers to minister on a full time basis

As more reserves are inviting us to work full-time in their communities, we are seeking committed Christians who have a passion to reach others with the amazing love and grace of our Saviour. If you have a desire to work among the First Nations people of Ontario, are willing to be humble and learn as you go, and are committed to following God wherever He may lead you, then  prayerfully consider God's calling for you to work with us among the Native people.
For more information, contact us at the DayStar Office or schedule a site visit with us at the DayStar Center in Wiikwemkoong. We pray and look forward to the journey that God has for us together as we commit to the life of "going ... and making disciples".
